Accessibility Statement
Last updated: March 2026
Our Commitment
Archie is committed to making our website accessible to all visitors, regardless of ability or technology. We believe the web should work for everyone, and we actively work to meet or exceed the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards.
As a company that builds websites for health practitioners, accessibility is central to everything we do, both on our own site and in every project we deliver for our clients.
Conformance Standard
This website aims to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines are published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and define how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities, including those with visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive impairments.
Our most recent accessibility audit scored 100/100 using Google Lighthouse's accessibility assessment.
What We've Implemented
Semantic HTML
Our website is built with proper semantic HTML5 elements, including landmarks (main, nav, section, footer), proper heading hierarchy (h1 through h6), and meaningful document structure that assistive technologies can interpret correctly.
Keyboard Navigation
All interactive elements on our website, including navigation links, buttons, forms, and embedded booking widgets, are fully operable via keyboard. Focus indicators are visible, and the tab order follows a logical reading sequence.
Screen Reader Support
We use ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) labels and attributes throughout our website to provide context for screen reader users. Images include descriptive alt text, icons have accessible names, and dynamic content changes are announced appropriately.
Motion and Animation
Our website includes subtle scroll-triggered animations for visual enhancement. These animations respect the prefers-reduced-motion media query. When a user has indicated a preference for reduced motion in their operating system settings, all animations are disabled and content appears immediately without movement.
Color and Contrast
All text on our website meets or exceeds the WCAG 2.1 AA minimum contrast ratios: 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text. We do not rely on color alone to convey meaning, and interactive elements have clear visual states for hover, focus, and active interactions.
Responsive Design
Our website is designed mobile-first and functions correctly at all viewport sizes, from small phones to large desktop monitors. Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality. Layouts reflow rather than requiring horizontal scrolling.
Forms
All form fields include visible labels associated with their inputs. Required fields are clearly indicated. Error messages are descriptive and programmatically associated with the relevant input. Form submissions can be completed entirely via keyboard.
Skip Navigation
A “Skip to main content” link is available for keyboard and screen reader users to bypass repetitive navigation and jump directly to the page's primary content.
Third-Party Content
Our website includes embedded content from third-party services, such as Cal.com for booking. While we select tools that prioritize accessibility, we cannot fully control the accessibility of third-party widgets. If you encounter difficulties with any embedded content, please contact us and we will help you complete the action through an alternative method.
Ongoing Efforts
Accessibility is not a one-time checklist. We continuously work to improve, including:
- Running automated accessibility audits (Lighthouse, axe) on every deployment
- Manual testing with keyboard navigation and screen readers
- Reviewing new content and features for accessibility before publishing
- Staying current with evolving WCAG standards and best practices
- Building accessibility into every client project from the start, not as an afterthought
Feedback and Contact
We welcome feedback about the accessibility of our website. If you experience any barriers, have difficulty accessing any content, or have suggestions for improvement, please let us know:
We aim to respond to accessibility feedback within 5 business days. If a barrier is identified, we will work to resolve it as quickly as possible.
